I can't load that video on this PC :/

Which graphics card is it?

You can look up the model in these tables, and check the OpenGL version number. Horde requires 2.0.
NVidia list
ATI list

Looks OK to me, but I don't recommend it for High-End gaming. Consider buying at least Geforce 9600 GT for better gaming performance for about $90 or so. If money isn't an issue for you, I would recommend something at Radeon HD 5770 range for about $150. They support DirectX 11 and OpenGL 3.2 [also AMD is working on OGL 4.0 drivers] with great gaming performance and visuals.

Note: At the time that post was made, ATI already had OpenGL 4.0 drivers for quite some time, didn't they? I think they released them about 3-4 days after the specs were made public.

Yes, but they were flaky as hell for a while after that. I hear they have shaken out most of the major bugs by now, though.

@OP: If your price range is not flexible, then for a similar price you can obtain a DirectX 11/OpenGL 4.0 capable card, which will also be at least a little better performance than that 8400. Try the Radeon 5550, or its smaller brethren, the 5450.

I happen to have that NVidia 8400 installed in one of my auxilary computers, and while it makes a decent HTPC, and plays light games (for example Portal or Torchlight), it doesn't make much of a development card.

Hmmm i already ordered the GeForce 9400 GT 1GB DDR2 PCI-E 2.0 from amazon 2 days ago.

mostly because its 1gb, from nvidia and Full DirectX 10 and OpenGL 2.1 support.

(i had bad experiences with ATI in the past so i'm not a really big fan of them)

The 9400 is roughly a re-packaged 8400 on a smaller die, which gives you reduced power consumption and a performance increase. It makes for a
decent development card, but don't expect to play Crysis

Of interest however is that this card overclocks very well - even the passive-heatsink models can be significantly overclocked without aftermarket cooling.

Most of us did. However, ATI has had a significant price/performance/power consumption/heat advantage in the last couple of generations, and their drivers have vastly improved, to the point where they rival NVidia's drivers for stability and features.
