The shadow of my character doesn't start at it's feet but a bit higher which produces this odd effect.
It seems like the shadow is cut off at his knees. I've lowered the character to stand a bit in the ground to show he's not flying above it.

Is there a way to fix this?

This is a common shadow mapping phonomenon which is called peter-panning. It is the result of a too high shadow bias. On the other hand, if you choose the shadow bias too low you get surface acne (artefacts on the model). Finding the right bias can sometimes cause you headaches and often it is not possible to find the perfect one. This problem is not specific to Horde but to shadow mapping in general. CG movie studios often spend days just tweaking the bias for each shot.

Thanks, I managed to get it right setting the LightNodeParams::ShadowMapBias to 0.001, the default (0.005) was to high for this setup.
