What would be a good read to properly get into creating shaders for horde? So far, I tried modifying the Horde material shaders, but I have a really hard time understanding them because I hardly know anything about the scripting language used in Horde3D (is it even GLSL?).

Do you use special tools to design your shaders?

Basic language is GLSL, but there are some custom section tags for providing information e.g. about used uniforms and default values. See also the Shaders section in the pipeline documentation.

Im planning on buy OpenGL Shading Language book, but I have no former background education on graphics, so Im planning on buy something "extra" if you have any suggestions I will be glad to look on them.

I think you won't go much far with the Orange Book and no knowledge of graphics. I suggest you first consult an introductory book on graphics first, or a least the Red Book for some GL knowledge. As Horde3D is quite shader oriented and low level it would be a good idea to at least know something about the graphics pipeline.

I think for OpenGL introduction NeHe tuts are good, isn't? but like I know they are fixed function and I have also found 1 or 2 GLSL tuts out there.

But for graphics I dont know of a good book or site out there? (Im looking prospects at amazon, later I will see what is on libraries near here, but I dont have high spectations, I will like to say that the books recommended at ogre site but I think they cover specific graphics algorithms not the broad picture).
