Post subject:  writing shaders

I have been dithering for awhile about which open-source 3D engine to start playing with and have eventually decided on Horde. The first thing I intend to do is fiddle with shaders and hopefully after a write some sensible shaders. I think it would be nice to build a community database of Horde resources (just struck me, how neat it could be called Hoard3D), particularly shaders and pipelines. Shaders and pipelines along with explanations of how they work could simply be put in the wiki.

Anyway I'm not an expert and might not get anywhere at all but the following are what I intend to look into:

Textures:
(> add to specular lighting:
> specular maps
(> parallax occlusion mapping w/shadows

Post processing/screen space:
(> Depth of field
(> Fog
(> Black and White and/or more general colour/tone mapping
(> streak HDR effect

Other:
(> See other post

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds good. AcidFaucet already has posted one such technique on the wiki. :)

We need something akin to "allegro.cc" site, that is a site that hosts several files related to allegro (even opensource games made with allegro, ie: that is a requeriment, they only host a project if it is opensource)

Btw: Who has done some shaders? I am failing to code my own...

You may post your code in a repository or an the wiki. I would advise to use the wiki to centralize information related to horde3d, instead of creating a new location.

I agree,... since we have a really nice wiki! :-)
