For some reason a few of the models im currently working with, the geometry normals are flipped in the wrong direction when viewing using the main editor viewport - but the full screen mode and the geometry preview window does render correctly.

3D Max Collada file.

On some of them if I don't Bake Matrices seems to fix the issue, but then the geometry is giant and out of scale, relative to what it should be.

Best Regards,

A door opens and a homewife brings out a rather sophisticated-looking ground-to-air missile system, and dumps it on the cart.
Thank you.

Did I understand you correctly, that the normals flip if you switch between normal viewport of the editor and the fullscreen mode? That would be very strange. Although there was some issue with reinitialization of states in fullscreen mode, I can't imagine and have never experienced any flip in normals due to the viewport switch.

It's especially strange that it seems to be correct when using fullscreen mode, since the states are only initialized correctly in the main viewport. Are you sure that the normals of you model are pointing into the correct direction?

Yes that's correct, the normals are in the right direction on the model when exporting - if you add a new model/reference node to the scene the model is previewed correctly, its only when viewed within the main viewport are they pointing in the wrong direction.

What happens if you add the exported model to one of the sample applications? Are the normals correct in this case? If not, there may be a problem in the converter. It it work's correctly in the samples, there must be a problem with the OpenGL states in the editor.

Okay, just tried it through a sample application and the normals are flipped incorrectly - so as you suggest it might be a converter issue?

I should have solved this problem earlier, since we got the same problem with another model just some days ago. You have a negativ scale in your model which results in a flip of the normals. Just make it positive and all is looking fine.
